SAT II policy

Does anyone know what the policy is for the SAT II tests for the UC's for the class of 2006? With the new SATs, are 2 or 3 subject tests going to be required?

three tests are already required - when I applied (two years ago), they required one of the Math tests, the writing test, and one other of your choice. I doubt that will change.

Icarus and devils67:

The tests required have changed for the Class of 2006.

2 subject tests are required for Class of 2006 in different subject matters; e.g. One in U.S. history, one in Chemistry; you can't go 1 in biology and 1 in chemistry or 1 in French another in German. Two distinct areas. You may still take the Math IIC to fulfill this requirement, but the Math IC is no longer an option.

The new SAT I encompasses a writing section (so you don't have to take the Writing Subject tests anymore) and a more difficult math section. Literature is still available as an option.

If you place to take the ACT, you must take the new ACT with Writing in lieu of the new SAT I.

In sum:

New SAT I
2 SAT II Subject tests in two different subject/field areas

Thanks eiffelguy, that makes it much better for me.

I am very thankful I don't have to mess around with SAT's...two years in CCC hell is much better...wait a second...d'oh!

ah yes, i forgot about the new SAT I...

Yeah, new SAT I. I'm not a fan of it; a four hour test is way too long. With the 3 SAT IIs, I split them up into three testing sessions; a three-hour session is way too draining on me.
