SAT II problem!

Hey everyone. I have a few quick questions about the SAT II's with Yale. Most of the people here take Math IIC as one of their subject tests. Well, my worst subject in middle school was math, so i'm one of those kids thats a sophomore but in geometry instead of algebra. And i'm not on a block schedule, i'm on a 6 class schedule where each class takes a year to complete. I was thinking of coordinating my subject tests with the classes I plan on taking next year: AP American History (U.S History SAT), Latin II & III (Latin SAT) and AP Bio (bio SAT).

Would it be a better decision to take Math IIC? What about Math IC? Would Yale look at me like I was a worse applicant than someone who took Math IIC?

Thanks.

My say is take IIC unless you cant finnish the test on time. The curve rocks.

"Would Yale look at me like I was a worse applicant than someone who took Math IIC?"

-- absolutely not (although it does show less about your math potential). I took Math I last year (foolishly believing rumours that college admission looks at your percentiles along with your scores), got a bit less than perfect with one careless mistake, and still got into Yale RD. Oh yeah, I got high 90s for math throughout high school and am taking AP Calc and Stats this year -- so if Yale didn't mind my Math I under those circumstances, I don't think they'll mind your math choice.

Thanks for the replies. I'll probably flip through the different tests this weekend and see if I can handle the math ones (I'm a terrible math test taker), but if it doesn't look too bad, i'll start in on it.

You should take math ii. It's not really that hard, even for a non-math person like myself. At the beginning of my studying for it, it was somewhat difficult but as you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier.

Math II is manageable provided that you've taken up to precalc, and have some background in trig. I got a low math II score, but I still got accepted at Yale. As long as you can prove your competency on the test (at least 700 I would say, which is very easy to get on this test), and score high on your other 2 subject tests, you should be OK.
