I'm currently a junior in high school. I'm thinking about taking SAT for the first time possibly in May or June. I also want to take some SAT II's such as Math 2, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Chinese w/ listening. (I want to go into medical field.) How many SAT II's do colleges want?? as many as possible? or not too many but enough?? I don't want to take all those SAT II's this year, maybe take 1 or 2 next year in May. but will colleges still get my score if I take those SAT II's in may 2008??

Also, I'm taking Spanish 2 this year, but not planning to take Spanish 3 next year. becuz i'm going to take 3 science classes next year...AP bio, physics, and human physiology honors. is it a good idea to drop spanish?? cuz i've heard people talking that good colleges require more than 2 foreign languages credits. I speak Chinese/ Mandarin fluently, so I think science classese are more important than going deep in Spanish. so I was wondering, if I take SAT II Chinese and get possible a 800, is that going to help me, showing colleges that I not only speak spanish but also chinese. or is that going to be bad, becuz i speak chinese fluently and taking chinese....would that seem like i'm cheating???

Most colleges want 2 SAT II's however if you take more than that, they'll only look at your top two scores. Some schools want 3 though. You just have to look at the schools you want to go to to see their requirements.

May 2008 would be way to late to take the subject tests. Most colleges have already sent out their decisions by then. If you're applying ED or EA the latest you can take them is November 2007 and regular decision should be January 2008.

I don't think you should take the Chinese SAT and get an 800 if you're fluent in it. I think it would be better if you show the admission officers that yes, you speak Chinese fluently, but you didn't take the easy way out of the situation. Take two other subject tests. Seeing as you are planning on taking AP physics you can take the subject test in that if you want, or in bio (neither requires the AP class) and then maybe take the math or literature or history. There are a ton to choose from.

Does it make sense to take the SAT II for a subject that you're later planning to take the AP test for. For instance, I'll be in AP Spanish next year, so would it make sense for me to take the SAT II for that at the end of this year? Also, if I'm in Precalc right now, when would be the best time to take math? And which level should I go for?
