Hey guys, i scored horribly on my history and science SAT IIs ( only ones i've taken so far). i am currently a junior in hs and want to get into a top college. i plan to take a math, different history, and different science this year. i think i will do well on them but will the two previous scores hinder my chances? if yes, how much? and should i place them on my app? thanks in advance

bump.... could anyone give any insight please?

I got a 640 on my US History SAT II (which I was not pleased with by any means), but a 5 on my AP Exam. I think colleges give more weight to a course you took a whole year than a one hour test... at least that is what my college counselor told me. So don't sweat it too much.

If I were you, I'd concentrate on getting a high score on your math SAT II. You can't choose whether or not they are placed on your app. The colleges will see them all regardless... when you have to send in a score report. Most colleges say that they honestly only weigh your top two or three (depending on the requirement at the school), so I guess all you can do is hope that they are telling the truth and trust the system for what it's worth.

Also. When did you take these SAT IIs? The spring of your sophomore year? The colleges are going to look more closely at the ones you take this year. Good luck to you.

thanks for the feedback. yeah, i did take them my sophomore year. and is it true that colleges only look at the top scores of 2 or 3 subjects?

anyone else have any input?

They will see ALL of your scores. They shouldn't use that against you though, if your junior year scores are up to par. Relax and do your best junior year because it's too late. they WILL see your old scores
