I'm a junior who's applying to 4 UCs, USC, and Hawaii Pacific. I was planning on taking Math 2 and French. But I bought 12 real SATIIs or something and flipping through the Math 2 test concerned me. I can barely answer any of them! I'm in precalc honors with a tough teacher and I'm easily making a good grade. The material looks familiar. My problem, I guess, is, I suck at retaining things. Is there any way to prepare or should I give up and take literature instead?

Barron's SAT2c has a decent review section, sometimes explaining more than what is needed. Learn how to use the calculator effectively. The first step is identifying if a question would be easily solved using a calculator, this takes practice. I hardly ever use my calculator in my precalc class, on the AMC's, and while practicing the SATI math section, but IIC pretty much requires it.

Hey! I'm taking the same SAT II tests as you! Yeah im totally worried about the math test...I think maybe confronting the same types of problems again and again will make u retain the info and u'll get the hang of it pretty soon..

when r u planning to take the tests? I'm thinking for the french in may, cuz its right before the ap test, and math in october? I hope we both do well on both testS! lol.

well, the dealine for the May 5th SAT and REasoning tests just passed March 29. This took me by surprise, as I was planning to register for the SAT I then. I'm planning on taking both October 6th, since I have enough on my plate with AP tests + finals for all classes (since I've had a Saturday school, I can't opt out of any finals for classes I'm taking the AP in)

both SAT IIs, I mean. I suppose I'll be retaking the SAT I June 2nd.
