SAT II Question

I have always wondered if there is a limit to the number of SAT IIs one can take. Most applications I have looked at have space for six, but I asked on the Sparknotes message board and someone answered three. I plan to take about 7 by graduation and I wanted to know if this was completely useless.

How many SAT II's can one take (maximum) or how many seem reasonable???

sat iis are a major bonus if you know how to use them well, with that said, you should always try and take the tests that you know you will do well on. it's almost like common sense but some people do not understand that, quality matter SO MUCH more than quantity. i would suggest taking 3 sat ii if you are a junior, one science, one history, and one lang/lit/whatever your heart desires. now if you are really looking to be competetive, and/or you have some other weak sides of your application, you may want to take another science that you will do good on. If i had to give some "general" advice to people on cc, i would say take sat ii physics, sat ii biology, sat ii math iic, and sat ii u.s history. now the reason i stuck in physics and math iic is because both of the tests have exceedingly leniant curves, and if you know what you are doing and study, it's not too hard to pull off 700+. once again there is no limit to sat iis, you have the opportunity to take as many as you want, and if you can do well on all that's awesome for you. idk if this really helps but i tried to put it the best way i could, if you have any specific questions or anything else just ask =)

Thank you for answering my question. Now down to some specifics if you don't mind:

I was planning on taking both World His. and US His. I now realize that it is not that helpful but I already registered for world without taking a course in it and i WILL be taking a course in US. should i just cancel world?

I am taking french on an advanced but my first language was spanish and i am fluent. should i take the SAT II in both languages?

I registered for Chemistry after taking a pretty advanced course but I will be taking the most advanced Physics course next year (junior year). should i therefore cancel chem because I will do much better (i think) in physics?

Do you know the difference between Eng. Lang and Eng. Lit. collegeboard gives me very vague info on the subject.

thanks

cancel world, take u.s history, after the course for it you'll do fine on the test.

don't take spanish (that won't do you any good since you are spanish), take french, and try to make a note somewhere on your application when you apply that you are NOT french

take chemistry, and make sure you get the barron's book, since it's fresh in your mind you will hopefully do well. take physics as well next year, you will do well in that if you also study with barrons and are taking the course

that is one im not sure of, sorry but ask someone familiar with the eng. lang and eng. lit sat ii

hopefully that helps with your questions (sorry about the last one but i don't know it, and i don't want to say anything if i don't know it, i would take a guess but don't want to a chance), shoot if you have anymore =)

regarding the spanish vs french question:
CollegeBoard tells me that even if I learned the language at home, I should take the test. THey say that no matter where or how I learned, i should take it. Maybe that applies to people who speak at home but still learn it in an academic context, no idea. Your opinion?

Thanks
