Hey guys, I am taking bio along with math and chem and the last two i am prepared for but it has been years since i took bio and i dont remember much. can you give an idea how to COMPREHENSIVELY prepare for the bio? any books or ANY COMBINATION OF BOOKS that would be sufficient. I dont want to turn out that after just using the SAT II book I went there and half the material was new ****.
Thank you!

I'm using Kaplan's book to prepare for bio.

I would like to know as well.

Kaplan is the bomb for bio.

Barron's is alright. Don't bother with sections 6.1, 7.5, 8.3, 10.5, 11.1, 11.4, 12.2, and 12.3, though. It isn't on the SAT II. Check the preface - it says the book is meant for other tests, too - such as the New York Regents - so not all the info applies to the SAT II.

PR/Sparknotes - Good review/preview.

Here's what I did:
1. Took comprehensive notes on Kaplan and Barron's and reviewed every day (relevant info only). These helped massively
2. Made flashcards from Kaplan and Barron's that I didn't use too much.
3. Read random bio review books (not necessarily test prep) at BN. I usually took notes, but didn't review them or anything. Just reading and summarizing the info gives your brain a more firm grasp of biology in general and how it works.
4. Fell in love with bio - so I actually enjoyed studying for it. This includes study hall, on the bus, before I did my homework, and after I did my homework. Hell, even during dinner. You get the idea. Hell, I stayed up JUST because I wanted to study so much.

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 --> 800 + 5

BTW, I'm a total bio nerd.
