<p>Hey, I was wondering what the SAT II ranges are for Columbia?
I've been able to find the SAT 1 range but not the IIs'.</p>
<p>I'm asking because I need to know if I need to retake my mine or not.
I'm applying to other highly competitive schools too but they allow submission of the ACT in place of both the SAT 1 and 2s.
Columbia allows you to submit ACT in place of SAT1 but still wants 3 SAT IIs.</p>
<p>So here are my scores:
Bio - M: 650
Math IIC: 700
Writing: 680</p>
<p>I know I could do much better if I retook them, but I want to know if I really need to retake them? Are those decent enough for Columbia? </p>
<p>My bio is so low b/c the test covers more of an Honors/AP curriculum than IB , whiich is what I am in. I just took the test without studying and ran into numerous ?s I hadn't learned since freshman year. Anyways, if I was to study, I feel rather confident I could get 750+, and on the math I think just retaking it would probably bump me to a 800. It was just a bad testing day b/c it really did feel easy for me but I worked to slow omitting several ?s.</p>
<p>Anyhow, do I need to retake or no? I can, but if not needed I'd rather not waste my time studying for the bio hehe. Thanks.</p>
<p>yeaa, definitely on the math. I took all 3 in one day, so it sort of taxed me as I went along and math was last.</p>
<p>I have no problem retaking math because that requires no studying and I know I'd be waaay better if taken by itself, as well as just having a 2nd chance knowing my time limit.</p>
<p>they don't actually release them... but u can estimate by the sat I ranges, i'd assume about 650-720 ish... but it really depends on the test, i mean look at the math an 800 is 90%... as for bio, it really would be hard to score higher even with the studying, i'd keep it as it is, and also, it would look really bad if u retook it and scored lower...</p>

<p>Yeah, if I'm going to retake the math, I might as well retake the writing too on the same. No? I'm not sure if I can improve on the writing, though. Perhaps on the essay because the last half of it I rushed, but there is definitely the possibility that I could score lower.</p>
<p>Along these lines... I got a 630 in Bio-E, but it was in freshman year... do they see the year, and will they "forgive" me for the low score because of the year I took it in?</p>
<p>um I don't think so. If you only took bio freshman year and never again, then for you freshman year would have been the best year.</p>
<p>Yeah, for me, I would have done much better after my freshman year actually. That was when I took PIB bio, which is more like Honors Bio. Later when I got into IB bio we stopped learning certain things and I forgot them.</p>
