SAT II requirement for Wharton?

How many Subject tests should you take? Should I take a little more or just the bare minimum? The reason I ask is that they will see all my grades, correct? So the more I take, the more I have a chance of getting a lower grade. Will they only use the number of tests required to hold against me/ or with me, or can a lower grade from a test beyond the requirement hurt?

There are definatlely some I could ace, while others, unsure. Just need to know how much a typical applicant does. Thanks!

They take the top two scores. They won't bother looking at the others. Just take the test you feel like you can ace. I would advise taking MathIIC instead of IC because of the depth of IIC.

I took three, the third was Physics (650) because I was applying to MIT. The other two tests were US Hist. (710) and Math IIC (720).

If you're applying to Wharton, you need to take the Math IIC (unless you send in ACT scores, in which you don't need any SAT's). Other test(s) can be in any subject you choose.

thanks, that clears a lot up. so i can take as many as i want, without worrying about admissions caring if they are low (beyond the two good ones). What about a Foreign Language SAT Subject Test? If you want to be exempt from taking languages, does that HAVE to be one of the two you submit?

No, you could take a foreign language SAT II after getting accepted and still exempt out of the requirement.

12041987, i dont think IIC is required for Wharton. all u need are two SAT IIs.

I think that Wharton specifies that it prefers a Math SAT. In that case, it's always better to take the Level 2.

I took Math 1 and Math 2, (750 and 680 respectively), but for the purpose of statistics, the top score is used.

by statistics, you mean the AI, right?

no, I'm talking about from Penn's point of view. All colleges at the university ask for only 2 SAT IIs, and Wharton does not specify that IIC is required.

But considering the math requirements at Wharton and the fact that the Level 2 is more difficult, they'd rather see you do that one. It shows that you're confident with the math you've learned, and are not looking for an easy way out in the Level 1.

You're going to have to take at least two calculus courses at Wharton. Get used to math.

and does the school only see the sat tests that you submit? or do they have access to your complete testing record? thanks, again, for all your help!

Perhaps I did not make myself clear. The Math IIC is not required for admission to Wharton, but it is strongly recommended that you take it, as a strong foundation in math is important. When you send in SAT's, they will see your complete testing record. ACT's, on the other hand, can be sent for one test date only.
