SAT II scores. do they matter?

I just did not have time to take SATII tests.

So I had very limited college choices.

Yet, SAT2 scores for few colleges are just recommended or optional.

If i did not send my SAT2 scores to universities where SAT2 scores are recommneded, will it affect my application significantly?

Chance me please if you can.

I have 2220(superscore) for SAT1 -Math 780 Writing 750 Critical Reading 690

and 3.9 GPA(unweighted).

My school does not have any AP, but I take most rigorous courses.

I do many extracurricular activities such as

Thank you

and im an international student from SOuth Korea

It is better to take the SAT II’s because I think that besides looking good on your app, it also provokes the JHU admissions to gaug your academic interests and achievements more nicely. I took and got a 780 and 790 in Physics and Biology respectively, and I would say that was a decisive factor in my admission. but if won’t affect your application though I think it’s good to have it.

I am also a relatively new student from Korea.

Too late to worry about it now. :)

thank you guys!! do you think i have a chance getting in??

Your stats are pretty typical for JHU, so it would really depend on the holistic admission process–especially ECs, essays, interview, etc. Judging by what you’ve given you seem to be a qualified candidate.

I’m curious, though–how did you participate in cross country and football if you played varsity soccer all four years?

Doesn’t JHU require 2 SAT IIs?

I played football, club soccer, and cross country during fall, and soccer during spring.
In ninth grade, I played the club soccer while i was on the football team,
and in 12th grade, I played the club soccer and the cross country.

@newaccount
“The SAT Reasoning Test or the ACT with Writing Test is required. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit up to three SAT subject tests.”

Strongly encouraged…not required. I am sure in the case of a student with financial obstacles they would undertand not incurring the cost of taking and reporting the SAT II’s.

when i applied to JHU a few years ago they were required. I’m very surprised that this year they are not.

I’m pretty sure they’ve never been required, at least in the last 7 years. They’ve always been “strongly recommended” but never actually required.
