How much weight to SAT II scores play? I got my scores today: Math IIC: 800, which is good, but i got Physics: 640 and Writing: 630, I'm applying to Engineering ED, are the Physcis and Writing really gonna hurt me enough so that if i was an average to strong candidate, i would now be a reach to barely average candidate? Just wanted your opinions on how much SAT II scores matter.

I also have a question regarding SATII scores. I have been US for only 2 years so my writing score isn't above 700, though my mathIIC and chem are 800.
will Cornell consider my circumstance? I really really worked hard to improve my english proficiency.

i really hope they don't consider it too much cuz i just received my scores...i got a 760 iic, which i was really upset about cuz i knew i coulda done better, and then i got a 630 writing, which was also upsetting, and finally...i got a 580 chem, yeah i know, its repulsive, but i just started my ap chem class, so i wasn't well-prepared. will they these scores into much consideration? i applied ED to CAS.

yeah, i got 780 math IIC, 610 physics, 560 writting and im doing ED to engineering... ****...

I have an average of 760 on 3 highest SAT II's so I hope they factor in a lot for me... because I got 2 C+'s in AP classes this quarter -_- (the rest are all A's)

i was scared, but i look around on this site and everyone has something going against them.

I think I remember a Cornell representative who visited my school say something like "Good SAT II scores will help you but not-so-good ones will neither hurt or help you." Maybe this is because SAT II's are not required at Cornell (though not for all schools). I'm not sure.

yeah, my average SATII score are about 750...i hate SATII writing....

SAT II scores are very important!!! In fact, they will probably be weighted more heavily than the SAT I. After all, the SAT I is being changed...this fact in itself shows that that SAT I is flawed and requires an upgrade.

spyre, you couldn't be more wrong.
despite the changes, the SAT is still given more weight than the SAT II. Thats directly from an admissions officer, herself. (not me, but the person I spoke to)
