SAT II Scores --What gets reported?

Just got scores from November --Writing was 760 although subscore for essay was only 8. Do subscores show up in the report to colleges and would the 8 be a problem?

colleges will recieve a sample of your essay.

Sample of the essay?

this is so bs..sample of the essay?~!!

thye get a copy of your essay, literally. atleast only the ones you sent your score to.

no they don't. they just recieve your total score.

um, well i'm sure they do. I did get this information from a reliable source, btw.

They do not get your essays. end of story.

lol, i don't think so either. otherwise, it wouldn't be the first time that most of us are hearing this!

Why would they receive anything relating to the essay? Your essay score was factored into your total score... it's part of what resulted in your 760. That's all they need to know.

I read something about being able to send copies of your essay to colleges, but I'm sure it is not automatic. It's an extra service you can buy. I seem to remember that they can send you sealed copies of your essays, which you can send to whoever wants them, but that could be wrong too.

they DO NOT get a copy of your essay. for the new sats, they get your essay, but not for satIIs.

you can buy copies of your essay if you want to send them to colleges - they do not automatically get sent to them

In the meantime I have discovered that slipstream is right --no automatic sending , only if you do it yourself. But do they get the subscores--or only the total?

bump, anyone know?

I think we have the option of sending the essays. In the Kaplan SAT II book, it stated that that if you get a grade of like 10+ on the essay, it wouldn't be bad to show the colleges.

Only the essay written with the new SAT 1 test (starting in March '05) will be sent to colleges.
