How important are SAT IIs to UVA? I received a 660 on Literature, 710 on Math I and 780 on Math II. Are these scores average for the students that apply here? I know that my Lit score isn't that great but I sent it anyways...did I hurt my chances? By the way I got a 2050 on the SAT I and im in state.

As long as you got above a 650 it’s beneficial to send them.

UVA does not require SAT II’s so they can’t make/break your app, in my perspective.

2050 SAT I isn’t the best in the world but your 780 is impressive.

I think adcoms focus more on SAT/GPA (as far as numbers go) than SAT II’s.

send everything. a bad score won’t hurt. a good score can only help.

seriously, to everyone who applied, don’t worry about SAT IIs, I got a 560 on my Lit one and I got in

You sent that 560?

I think you all think we spend hours pouring over these three digit scores. We don’t. Yes, testing is important. However, one score is not going to derail an application.

On the testing: If my ACT score is much better than my SAT score, will colleges think of it? In other words, do colleges consider both scores ACT/SAT? Or if one is better than the other, do they ignore the worse score?

Yes I did. Along with my 800 in Math II because they were free. I’m sure they paid much more attn to the math score than my lit score.
