SAT II scores

Just received my SAT IIs and got 710 on lit, 770 on math 2, and 720 on bio.
I have already applied early decision, should I send these scores in? I don't think they're that good but other people disagree...so I'm not sure. I definitely don't want them hurting my application.

Those are good scores. I would submit if I was in the same situation.

From their site, they say they’ll only consider them “if they strengthen your application”, which means they’ll try not to use the scores if they’re low, no worries. But personally I think the 710 in Lit is a little low to send in. 2 is enough.

Unfortunately, because I took the tests all together, I have to send all 3 of the scores together as well. :frowning: I think I’m gonna hold off unless my admissions counselor asks to see them for some reason

I think they are great scores especially because they show your breadth of talent (ie they are not all science). But I’m just a mom so ask your guidance counselor at school what s/he thinks.
Good luck.

Math 2 is good. Other two are on the bubble (maybe low).
My suggestion would be based on your full picture - GPA, class rank, SAT I/ACT and ECs.
If you post them, it would be easier to provide a suggestion.

The lit isn’t that bad in the context of what is seemingly your penchant for math and science. Shows…variety imo.

I would guess the 710 and 720 are below the average for WashU enrolled students. But you have to see the entire picture.

well I got a 35 on the english portion of the ACT, and a 33 on the reading, so I was thinking that could perhaps help them ignore the low SAT II score in lit. And I want to major in bio, so I think a 720 is pretty low for a bio major :stuck_out_tongue: (but I got a 5 on the AP exam). Hmm. Not sure.
Another question: I only took 6 ap classes in high school (as opposed to the other girl from my school applying ED, who took 9), do you think this will hurt me a lot?

also, onecot59, I posted a more in depth post earlier about my stats if you can find it haha

I would just send them all, 700+ won’t hurt.

They aren’t going to reject you because you only got 720 on you SAT subject tests. Also, 6 APs are enough, provided it was still a relatively challenging course load.

soo just for future people reading this, i got accepted and I did send these scores in. so. theres that. haha

Good to hear. I was reading people’s comments about the Lit score being too low and was laughing. Anything over 700 on these tests is considered good. People are being a little ridiculous.

I got in with a 690 on Lit, 720 on both Math I and II and a 770 in US History. It does happen.
