SAT II Spanish/French/Chem

Hey guys,

I have many questions about whether I should take these SAT IIs or not.

1) For Spanish, I self-studied Spanish III and tested out of it. Would self-studying Spanish during the summer be enough to get 700+ on SATII ? Can anyone recommend good Spanish 4 textbooks or SATII prep books for Spanish?

2)I'm taking AP French my senior yr so the colleges won't receive my scores until after my acceptance. Should I take SAT II just to prove my proficiency?

3) My Chem score was low 600s and I don't think my AP chem score was very good either. Should I retake it? (BTW I took BioM and the score was ok)

Thanks and sorry for asking so many questions.

There really isn’t any point in taking 2 SATII in the languages, so I would try to get an 800 Chem.

You didn’t provide enough information like what you might major in. If you’re doing something with science then you should try to improve Chem but if you’re interested in majoring in a language then take French.

As for prep I don’t really know because I’m not to that level yet, but a textbook is not sufficient for a language. No book will ever have all the words that you’re supposed to know. Learn the grammar covered along with the vocab but then use interesting ways to study! Read a book in Spanish (I suggest HP), watch a movie, listen to music (try disney) these will all help your vocab a lot!
