Hi everyone, thought I’d make a spot for us all to discuss the Spanish subject test! The few of us out there I suppose!
Hi! I just got back from the test! I did a couple Barron’s practice tests to prep but didn’t actually go over much by way of grammar/vocab/etc. IMO the test was similar to the practice.
My niece thought Barron’s was harder than the real test.
Lol just finished I thought that was so much harder… ran out of time…
@jetynz yess i thought it was way harder than the practice tests…i ran out of time too and i never did on any of the practice tests i hope the curve is easy…there were just so many reading passages in the third section
@magic125 I know! I didn’t even get to read the last one! I skipped it and went to the last two advertisements. Ugh I thought that went so badly. (I am not a native speaker) Was it a clinic or a hospital? And why did scientists go to Chile? And was the answer to one question aún? Any others you remember?
@jetynz yes i definitely put aun for one of them - I thought it didn’t really make sense but the other answers were worse so idk. They went to Chile because the volcanoes were diverse/there were many different types. Umm I think that it wasn’t a clinic or a hospital - it was for medical services that would come to your house (domecilo)
I didn’t read one of the passages (haha not a native speaker either). I don’t really remember much else…there were just a lot that I thought were confusing (like I narrowed it down to two and then had no clue)
@magic125 Lol so I guess of those 3 I got 2 wrong LOL, and those were ones I felt kinda good on. hahah I’m screwed… da hell is domecilo lol. Oh what was the answer to the one that asked about ciudadado or something I had no idea what that meant? It was the trashcan question. Also what happened as a result of Chilean eruptions only or something? I remember like terrero was an answer maybe?
The practice tests in Barron’s were definitely more difficult.
@jetynz oh yeah i chose the terreno one cause the other ones didn’t make sense (but idk about that one). Ummm…i don’t really remember the exact wording of the traschan one…ciudadano means citizen and i think the answer was something like “the citizens need to do their job of not creating too much waste” but idk
@magic125 HAHAH 2 more wrong!!! I had terreno but I think I changed it rofl. Didn’t know what ciudadano meant, I think I put the one about like putting trash in the respective category rip. I tried gg. I was hoping to get college credit
Hey guys. Espero que ustedes reciban buenas notas en sus exámenes. O por lo menos, más mejor que lo que pensaban. I was wondering if I should take it in October. Have 3 years of Spanish HS classes and am scoring about 750-760 on Princeton Review’s practice tests. Also am a telenovela/South Park (in Spanish) aficionado. Will receive the Barron’s Spanish book sometime next week.
