I am new to this site, but have been a lurker for awhile. I was considering switching to SAT II Spanish because I have four years of honors Spanish, and am hoping for a 700+. How harsh is the curve? Also, do you know of any websites with practice tests or reviews of necessary vocab/grammar to study?
Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing.

bump* Please anyone?

hmmm, i’d also be appreciative if anyone has any help

Alright, I’m taking the SAT II tomorrow for my second time (first was in May). The curve is pretty harsh. Native speakers take the test, so they have to make it harsh otherwise there would be tons of 800s. I am a good Spanish student and currenly in Spanish 4 Honors. I will be going into AP Spanish next year. I have received a silver medal on the National Spanish Exam for the past two years. I received a 670 on the Spanish SAT II. The test was considerabley harder than expected, but it’s manageable. A prep book would be very helpful.

a close friend of mine is a native speaker (he learned it before english and was in AP Spanish)… he got a 700

On a practice test our ap class took at the end of the year just kind of to see what it was like, I believe a 79/85 was good for a 750. I’m also not a native speaker and will only get a 4 on the ap, so I wouldn’t let what lexxxi said scare anyone away too much.

To be honest, I think the SATII is more friendly for non-native speakers than is the AP test. As I understand, the SAT includes some fill-in-the-blank questions on grammar, one area in which non-native speakers may have an advantage over native speakers. Additionally, I think I saw in another thread that a -5 will garner an 800, so a perfect score is certainly possible. In any case, good luck to everyone tomorrow!
