SAT II?! Study?! Please help!

I'm going to take AP Chem as a senior next year, but I want to take sat II chem during either November or October. Here's the problem, I took honors chem as a sophomore and got a 96 at the end of the year, but after a year of not "touching" chemistry, I don't remember much... How should I study for the sat chem test? I really want to get as close to 800 as possible.

Will study the AP Chem textbook during the summer help? If not, what should I do?

Also, I don't know what else to take, I just finished AP Calc AB, and I'm really good with math, so should I take math 2? Will the experiences in calculus help me to get an 800 on math 2? What about math 1?

Oh and I finished with APUSH this year, and I'm thinking about SAT us history, should I get a book to review before taking the test? If so, what book should I get?

Lastly, please give me some suggestions on what book to get for SAT II math1, math2, chem, and us history.

Thank you!

The AP tests are really similar to SAT II’s so you can use AP reviews for them. Take the Math II, it has a much better curve and math I sucks. Calc should definitely help you with that. US History also has a really generous curve so that’s a good idea to take too.

Just review your material :)

What about chem? Will ap chem textbook work?

Considering the similarities between AP exams and SAT subject tests, that should work :)

A single book for SAT US History won’t help you. US History is unpredictable and no book can cover every single aspect. The subject test likes to test details of US History and doesn’t expect you to know everything and thus you can get 10 questions wrong and still get an 800. If you had a good APUSH teacher and you learned a lot you will be fine. Just take a few practice tests from Sparknotes online.

I think you should review your honors chemistry and then take the CB test at home to see how well you fare, reviewing and building up for your AP class so it’s not a complete lost. After one year of not taking this subject, you will forget everything, especially for Chem.

Math Level 2 actually does not cover calculus; it covers everything before calculus, so the highest level topics on the exam are material from pre-calculus. Most colleges require two SAT subject tests, so I would recommend that you take three SAT Subject Tests which would be U.S. History, Math Level 2, and Chemistry. I actually took all these SAT Subject Tests and I found these review books best accordingly:
Chemistry: McGraw Hill
Math Level 2: Barron’s
U.S. History: Barron’s
These books are all good for review but for the most accurate tests I would recommend buying College Board’s books on the SAT Subject Tests.

Thanks for the answers! So I should just review my chem stuffs from sophomore yr, study the ap chem textbook, review my APUSH stuffs, and get the three books?

And for the official study guide, which ones should I get?

The first 2.

The third one contains a chemistry test, so I think that would be useful as well

Get The Essential Content for SAT II USH. I reviewed it. Got an 800. Probably only missed 3-4 questions.

There were only a few questions that I could not answer after having read The Essential Content. It’s a really concise book so it’s definitely worth reading.

I got a 770 ■■■ not going to college and working at mcdonald’s :c

It’s okay, i hear workers get free meals over there ;)

Sorry but calculus won’t help on the math exams.
Math I–Geometry & Algebra 2
Math II–Pre-Calc/Math-Analysis
You need to go back and review. I recommend Barron’s.

I’m in the same situation as you are for AP chem. I haven’t touched chem for a year either, and I asked my friend who took both the AP and SAT II chem tests how I’d do if I took the subject test in Nov, and he said I’d need a lot of studying to get 750+, which would be my goal. He didn’t recommend it.

As for math, take math II (800 = 6-7 wrong) because the curve is 100x more generous than the curve for math I is (800 = none wrong) and b/c math II looks better to colleges.

I was doing the math 2 practices on college board, but I found many problems that was never mentioned in my pre calc class… And I didnt see anything like those in calc last year either… Should I still register for math 2? I really want to get an 800!
