Hi
I was reading the app. instructions and it says that no standardized test scores should be submitted after October... but that's under the SAT Reasoning Test headline.
I'm retaking SAT I in Oct., and SAT IIs in Nov., and I've been told that it's okay to send the Nov. scores to Stanford if it's a subject test. Can someone confirm this? This could ruin my whole college application process if I can't send my scores from the Nov. subject testing.

Last year, they told me every test had to be taken by October and they wouldn't consider November scores. Then again considering my SATII chem score from October was 100 points less than November, maybe they did look at my November score!

so you had your november score sent to Stanford regardless of what they said?

cause I took Math I and Bio in May... and I intended to take Math II and another in Nov... I mean I'd be fine if it wasn't for the fact that Stanford strongly recommends a Math II subject test.

I talked to one of the admission officers there. He said that if your score can come in before they review your application, then they will certainly use your new score. but there's no guarantee.

After all, they are human, not machines, they'll give you sympathy.

I have heard the same as bluephish, but I would still rush the Nov. score.

but don't most schools recommend you don't rush because it's usually the same/slower than the online score because CB actually sends the physical paper report to the school?

yeah I heard rushing doesn't help usually.
well, when I signed up to take November, I had put Stanford as one of the 4 schools to receive the scores before I decided to apply early, so it just sent it to them and I guess maybe they saw it? But there's no guarantee at all...

Hmm my advice is for you to take the ACT in September/October and take your subject tests in the fall. Some people find the ACT easier than the SAT I and Stanford will take your best score. That way you will get the best of both worlds, as you will be able to get your subject tests into Stanford in time for SCEA consideration.

thanks..
but I think I'm one of those ppl who'd do better on the ACTs... I got a 2200, but I only got a 680 in CR, so basically the point of me taking it again in Oct is just to bump up that one score.

For those who'd like to know:
I called the undergrad admissions office today and they told me that SAT subject tests are not required, and the fact that I already took 2 is fine, even though the website states Math II is recommended, though I took Math I. However, the lady said this would not lower my chances of being accepted being as it is not required in the first place.
I am still sending in my november scores from Math II and another just in case they review my files after my score comes in.
