SAT II: Subject Tests for UC

For all of the University of California campuses, they require SAT II: Subject Tests. I haven't taken them yet, but plan to on November 6, 2010. The application period for the UCs are from November 1-30. Will the colleges get my score by then? And can I apply during the beginning of November while my Subject Test scores will be coming later?

Um, depends if you’re getting your scores by mail or online, if online it should take on average 20 days(a little under a 2 weeks)

So if I specify the UC schools when I register for the subject tests, it should be fine?

this link might help, i searched it up:
[SAT Subject Tests - Sending SAT Scores to Colleges](College Board Will No Longer Offer SAT Subject Tests or SAT with Essay – College Board Blog)

i think in your case, you might have to pay a additional fee for them to rush your scores to colleges bec, it takes them 5 weeks to turn them in but, if u pay the fee, it only takes them 2 business days

Thank you so much. You’re a life saver. How do I sign up for that rushed score? I’m kind of confused. Is it sent two business days after I take it?

If I’m not mistaken, you can even take the December test and just send the scores as soon as you get them. I believe the UCs will allow scores from the November and December test dates.

@neekzg: But then it’s going to take them 2 weeks to GET the scores and then 5 weeks to send them in, 5+2 = 7 weeks, 7 weeks = 2 months, November + 2 months = january, isn’t it?

Also, i read on the website i just linked, that once you get your scores(online or in mail), you’re subject to 7 days to request for rush delivery, and the fee is $29. I think you can request it online at the college board’s website.

DO NOT RUSH scores – it’s a waste of your money. UC will accept Dec scores sent the regular way. The colleges usually receive them before you do.

btw: Rush scores are sent overnight mail, which means the college has to hand-key them in. Otherwise, CB sends an electronic file to the college which for most, is faster.

So even though the application deadline is Nov. 30, it’s okay if my score doesn’t make it by then?

P.S. You guys are a huge help!

^Yes. The last test date you can use is the December one. I do not think you can use the January test date though.

Oh, okay. Sounds good to me.

As noted above, UCs accept through the December test date for test scores (application deadline is not test score deadline). They accept only regular delivery of scores. They do not accept January scores.

That’s a huge relief!
