SAT II Subject Tests

I don't think High School stress on the SAT II's very much and I'd like to know what is considered a "good score" by UVA's standards. How much do the SAT II's weigh on a person's application?

Thanks!

High schools don’t stress SAT Subject Tests because they don’t affect the ranking of the high school. There’s certainly an emphasis on state testing and the SAT at high schools…

UVa would consider 650+ a good score and 700+ a great score IMO. I think the general consensus at CC is that UVa looks at your SAT II’s score but it is mostly used for placement in courses rather than acceptance.

I would assume you are a junior so I would advise you to focus on GPA, SAT’s, and EC’s. You need to take ususually 2-3 Subject Tests in order to apply to top schools but there are much more important things than SAT II scores on your application.

ok thanks a lot, I appreciate it!

One college admissions resource book I have says that “anything over 600 should be submitted” to colleges. So, on the low end 600 is passing.
