A good amount of schools are saying that applicants will not be at a disadvantage if they do not submit SAT II scores, but will the scores be taken into consideration for those who do send it? If (for example, I haven’t taken any yet) I got a 720 on SAT Math II and I was applying to the Ivies, would it be more beneficial to just not send any tests?
Send what you’ve got, and don’t worry about it.
Consider the subject tests in the context of the rest of the application…if it makes the application stronger, send the scores. If it doesn’t make the app stronger don’t send. If neutral…probably doesn’t matter if you send or not.
Double check what your schools are doing wrt subject tests…I don’t know any that have recently changed their stance (meaning for upcoming 21/22 cycle) except for MIT, CalTech, and Harvey Mudd…all went from requiring subject tests to being test-blind wrt them.
^More have changed from “recommended” to “optional” for the upcoming admission cycle. For example, Brown, Yale, Penn.
All I see left, for schools that still “recommend” subject tests, are Dartmouth, Rice, Georgetown, and Duke, leaving aside the “won’t be disadvantaged without them” language from Harvard and Princeton.
Georgetown recommends three subject tests, although AP scores can be substituted. Prior to 20/21 cycle they ‘strongly’ recommended three subject tests.
