SAT II tests (math)

I could not find a specific answer to this question....

I am taking the SAT II tests June 4th and had a question about the math tests. I plan on majoring in history and I hate math. I have however taken advanced math courses and gotten A's in them. Does this mean i should take the level two math test? Would Harvard question why I didnt take it, and would they not think a Math level 1 test was a good enough indicator of my mathematical ability?

PS- I got a review book for the test and am doing very poorly with the practice tests for both levels...

It's fine if you take the IC. I took it in june of my junior year, after I had covered all of basic algebra. I don't think they look negatively on it as long as you do well. However, many people in a similar situation opt to take the IIC because it has a more generous curve. Some take IC in sophomore year, get 650, take IIC in junior year, and get 750.

Edit: I just read your last comment. Don't worry too much if you're doing poorly. My actual score was about 100 points above the practice scores because the practice tests were much more difficult. I used Barron's. This may not apply to other review books.

Yeah... Barrons is notorious for being difficult...
I remember I freaked out once cos I got a 620 on a practise critical reading from a barrons book... but i ended up getting a 760.

Yeah, I'm going to concur with suburbian... yuo can take the IC no problem, but the IIC's curve is better.
