Hello,

I took two SAT II tests in June and I got satisfactory scores. Do I have to take another SAT II test to improve my chances of getting in?

Thank you.

first of all, what colleges are you going for. Many colleges don’t even require subject tests. If you are applying to the schools that do want subject tests, you want more than satisfactory scores to set yourself apart from the rest of the group. For top schools, you want at least 700, and for the top 10 and Ivies, you want 750s. If “satisfactory” for you means 780 instead of 800, then good for you, you’re fine. If it means 650, then you might want to study a bit and retake to score higher.

About the number of subject tests, most schools only require two except for a few exceptions, but many still advise to send in 3. Luckily for you, you can take 3 subject tests on one date, so if you really need to retake and think you can do better, then retake the ones you took, and take another one as well.

Thank you very much.
