yeah i was confused about that, but it said "the country was only 80% literate" or something. i don't think it meant the region? but i'm not sure.

but it also said native white male. so i guess for native white males it would be higher =] not including immigrants and blacks/slaves

lewis and clark did not explore the hudson valley right lol
isn't the HV in NY

Ugh I forgot that Lewis and Clark quesiton -_-

I don't remember what I put but it wasn't Hudson Valley. I hate geography questions when they don't give you a map :(

what did other people put??

hahahha yeah i chose the hudson one, next to which i wrote NY

^^^hudson river..

haha okay =]

yeah yeah Hudson River :D omg.. i already got like 4 wrong.... :-(

what was the most progressive reform? the tax on liquor and cigarettes?

graduated income tax?

i believe it was love of the landscape -- manifest destiny and whatnot.

(when you wikipedia that you get directed to progressive tax ^_^)

Yeah, the graduated income tax sounds right.

The progressive tax one was definitely the graduated income tax

Was the NAFTA one for better trade relations around the world?

no nafta is just canada and mexico

I'm not convinced - I might be overthinking this but I feel like Progressives felt they could control social behavior, as they tried to do with Prohibition, and they did not try to punish the rich/big business, but rather come to a "square deal". But yeah I see that I could be wrong.

no. "progresive" tax is a definition/term. wikipedia "graduated income tax"--you'll get redirected to "progressive tax" it has nothing to do with the progressive party. it's just a word that means the tax %s increases as income increases
