SAT II US HISTORY review book?

i know this question has been asked a number of times, but im a senior right now and i need to take a 3rd SAT for georgetown in december. i took AP US history last year and did well in the course, but i didnt take the sat II for some reason so is there a review book any of you would recommend that would help me the most over a month of studying?

ive heard that REA AP US History 7th edition was good, and also kaplan.. but i need to recap on all the info in just 1 month so any recommendations would be appreciated

I used SAT II US History For Dummies review book. I've heard it's the best, and it has definitely been very good for me. I ended up changing my mind about the subject test choices (from sciences to history) just a few days before the test and had to essentially cram U.S. and World History for two days. I'm naturally pretty good at memorizing, but even so, you only need to understand the general themes and "flow" of history, not too many specifics. I ended up doing very well on both tests. If you have no trouble with remembering what you read, it should be fine. You still have plenty of time--much, much more than I did.

thanks, any other opinions from anybody about which book i should get ?

barron's shoves information down your throat so i didn't really like it. i just flipped through it for a little bit. instead i'd recommend the kaplan book because it focuses alot more on the social aspects instead of just the politics like barrons. and the kaplan practice tests are much more like the real thing. i got an 800 on the october one after taking getting a 5 on the AP last year.

The REA book gave me a 5 on the AP exam and a 720 on the sat subject test.

AMSCO. Good details.

I have used straight princeton review books for all tests. been good with me so far. I was in the same situation as the OP coming into Nov 1st test date. I got some review packets from my UShap teacher, but I only glanced through the one about colonial America (which was really lacking on the test). I found i didn't need to review, but i suppose i won't really know that until i get the score.

i would say that the test didn't focus on social changes throughout history. I thought the AP did. So maybe barrons isn't the best.

PR ftw
