SAT II US History

Has anybody ever taken this test and not studied a lot, but still scored relatively well? I didn't have any time to prep beyond WWII basically, but I have a general idea of stuff beyond that time through other means. I'm annoyed that I am not solid on the info like I'd like, but I still have to take the test and I'm curious if I can do like, above a 630 or so without having studied the heck out of textbooks and prepbooks? Besides, I have APUSH this year too, so I'll have that test to do well on in May. What should I be worried about with it?

So you are taking the SAT II's tomorrow? When I took it there were a lot of questions that covered the 1960's-1980's. They love asking a few questions on Regan. Personally I did not study at all and I scored an 800. But than again I took it right after the AP history exam so basically I had been reviewing for a year. I think if you know all the basics you should easily be able to score in the 700's range. It is really a fairly easy test. Oh and Rachel Carson always seems to come up on every standardized histroy test I have ever taken. If you have only covered up to WWII try to read a bunch on the sixties ASAP as that is a very important period where a lot of questions come from. Good luck and I hope you get the score you want.

You should look over material from after WWII.. I had several questions regarding the 60's and up to three questions as recent as Reagen's Administration and Ralph Nader's policy. Anyway. I took the SATII for US in May the year I took APUSH.. best thing I ever did. If at all possible I would wait to take your SAT II's in May, as I got a 5 on the exam and a 780 on the SAT II.. all the studying for the AP exam helps out IMMENSELY.

I found the US SaT II incredibly easy, but that was because I worked hard all year and immersed myself in the text. So once again, if at all possible.. try to hold it off until May. This goes with any other AP classes you're taking as well.
