I took the AP U.S. History exam and scored a 5, and took IB Math Studies (Standard Level) and scored a 7. I took these tests in May, and with a decent amount of studying I feel that I might be able to pull off similarly high scores on the corresponding SAT Subject Tests of United States History and Math Level 1.

My question is: How much do SAT Subject Tests really get looked at, especially at universities that say they only "recommend" them? Do my good scores in the other exams sort of supercede any SAT Subject test, which lacks the amount of time spent testing? Does retesting in the same two subjects that I self-reported scores for in my applications add anything to my application?

I am applying to only schools that do not require subject tests, and those that recommend them are my reach schools that I happen to not be too worried about getting into.
