I'm deciding which SAT subject test to take. For Math, I'm not much of a Math person. I have a B in precal now, but my high school is one of the top in my state, so it is harder than others. Still, I'm not so certain about taking Math II. I only scored a 66 on the PSAT on Math though.
For Bio, although I have an A in the AP class right now, I don't think I remember anything. Bio to me is just too overwhelming, and my teacher curves the test so it's extremely easy to make an A.
Which test would you suggest I take?

P/s: For Biology, is the SAT II similar to AP Bio? Because I know SAT II World History was not ( 4 on AP vs 610 SAt II)

I took Math II after Calc BC and I’m realllyyy a math person and I only got a 760 (I wasn’t great at precalc though). I’m sure if I took it again I would do better but…I don’t think it’s worth it if it’s already over 750. And then I took Bio E after only 4 months of AP Bio and got a 790. If you’ve already taken AP Enviro, it’s easier to do Bio E.

If you’re willing to take out a practice book and study for a few days, I would recommend Bio. If not, do Math. Why not both?

I would suggest doing both… unless you have another subject that you’re much better at. Math II’s curve is very generous, so you don’t have to be a math wizard, especially if you just put in the time to practice. I went through a few prep books, and went from a 620 to 740. A 66 on the PSAT is not bad at all, I’m pretty sure I got lower than that or around it.

If you’re only a junior, you still have A LOT of time. I don’t have experience with AP Biology, but I believe most people can do well on the SAT II without even taking AP Bio. Using a good prep book (PR or Barrons) will suffice for a 700+.

Just start practicing early, so you’re not surprised to find yourself with little to no time to prepare before the test date. I would take these tests at the end of the year, in June or May, when you’re done with these subjects in class.

It honestly depends on the time and effort you put in for both tests. They are not easy tests, but if you set aside a reasonable amount of time to study, you should be fine. I’m not much of a math person either, but I took Math II after AP Calculus BC and I scored a 790, and I scored a 740 on Biology after taking AP Biology. Take a lot of practice tests so you are familiar with the material, and try to get your hands on some preparatory books. Good luck!

^I’m assuming Math II Subject Test? That score shows you have a solid foundation of the material, and just need practice most likely to cut down on careless errors and such. Use Barrons.
