SAT II vs. SAT Subject Tests

I've taken the SAT twice - May 2010 and June 2010.

I went into May 2010 without much prep, knowing I was going to take it again in June 2010.

In June 2010, I scored higher on every single section than I did in May.

I am a MUCH better humanities student (English, History) than I am mathematics (Math, science). So, consequently, my CR score was MUCH higher than my math score on the SAT.

While I am working hard over the summer to get my math as even as possible to my CR score, I am having a dilemma.

Do I take the U.S History or Literature SAT II or SAT Subject Tests, to show them that that is where my strengths lie? Or do I do Math and Science, to show them that I am capable of doing well at those too?

I’d go with U.S. History and Lit since those are your strengths. I kinda feel that there’s a lot of applicants who do the typical Math and Science SAT II’s (particularly Math IIC & Chem) route, and plus the purpose of SAT II’s are to show colleges what fields you’re good at, right? On a SAT date, you can take up to 3 SAT subjects, so if you want you can take USH, Lit, and maybe science.

Either way, you’d play it much safer to go with U.S. History and Lit. I’d highly recommend those 2 in your case.

take the tests which you will do better in. There seems to be fewer people who do well in the humanities, so maybe it will make you stand out.
