SAT II World History - June 4th

It was like what is a characteristic of Confucianism and one of the choices were harsh punishment is needed to control people. I chose that choice, but in my AP book, it said that Confuciainism believed people are generally good.

Oh yeah that was about group over individuality, I remember now.

Do you guys remember any other questions?

GANDHI haha gotta stress that.

Mine absolutely wrong:

 1. Least non-violent
 2. First city (don’t ask)
 3. Africa for Africans
 4. Thomas Cook and Australia
 5. First question asking the genre of the art piece (with the woman)

Possibly wrong:
6) Developing countries/economic problem (some are saying it could be the dev. countries and overpopulation)
7) Gandhi cage poster
8) East Africa
9) Mesopotamia mother goddess
10) Jainism and ahisma
11) The second question with the artwork with the woman
12) Marx question

I don’t know this for sure, but I picked the Marx answer that said that socialism would prevail after communism. Like a country would become fully capitalistic and then be overthrown by socialism.

oh yeah I was angry at the Nehru question. Why did Nehru not chose to get aid from the Soivet Union or USA? I put Nehru did not want to get into cold war matters, but there was another choice that said Nehru did not want to get involved with NATO or the Warsaw Pact. I was like “aren’t those two choices that same?”

Was the Thomas Cook question the same question as the Australia being a jail question? What was the question on Thomas Cook?

I put that Nehru didn’t want to get drawn into cold war matters as well

It was the quote where he saw Aborigines people. I put utilitarianism because I came back to that question and I was stressed for time.

I put the same answer as almostsk8tr for the Nehru one. It was in my Barron’s book. Indonesia and Sukarno followed the same path lol.

[BBC - Religions - Jainism: Ahimsa](BBC - Religions - Jainism: Ahimsa)

Ahimsa is for protecting your soul.

Do you remember what other choices there were cause I don’t even remember that question. What did we say it was?

@esmee,

So the answer was personal spiritual progression right?

I don’t know…I just remember that there was a choice similar to protecting your soul…so your answer might have been right…the answer was B.

I find it kind of funny that we remember all of these questions

Yeah B was personal spiritual progression, almost positive haha.

Do you remember the question regarding Thomas Cook? What did you put for that?

Weren’t there two questions about Australia?

I remembered I put utilitarianism for one.

I also remembered I put that the author thought that Europeans were becoming materalistic.

hey almostsk8tr, are you a sophomore? I am.

And what colleges are you looking at? What’s your intended major?

Ok yeah I remember that I definitely but that they were becoming excessively materialistic. Do you remember the quote though? I can’t seem to remember what I put down for that quote.

Which quote? The quote about the Aborigines? it said that the Europeans thought the Aborigines were living in despair, but in fact, the Aboringines were living a great life.

I remember the quote. It was something about the natives there being happy even though they didn’t have the technology of the Europeans and etc.

Alright, so what was the question that made you answer utilitarianism?

I don’t really remember. For the first question, it just asked “What does the author note in this quote?” And the answer was probably materialistic.

My girlfriend said it was the one about savages. I feel like she’s right, because “for the greater good” didn’t fit into the context.

Yeah, the second part was “excessively materialistic”.

I don’t remember the quote, but I know it was about how the Aborigines were backwards, but happy because they haven’t experienced what Europeans have.

And it’s James Cook* not Thomas Cook, my bad

darn if only college board would let us have a copy of the test once everyone’s taken it.

I have to go guys. I think I’ll be back, but I don’t think I have any more questions.
