I took history in 9th grade, so it's been a while. Taking SAT II world history in December. Do you think I have adequate time to study all the material and score 750+? Some of the questions are common sense no doubt but with 3 weeks to study, how much do you think I should expect?

Yes, three weeks should be plenty to study for the material, provided that you study every day.

What is the curve like on the Sat II World History test?

yes the world history test is pretty easy. I got 710 with no studying at all. Didnt reall care about it since im not going in that direction anyway.

The curve for the world history SAT II is very forgiving. I think you can omit like eight or more and still get an 800. I don't have my real SAT II book right now, so I might get back to you.

I took european history 3 years ago... so I only know about WOI and II
Ive still have 3 weeks till next SAT
I am a good crammer.. do you think it's possible to learn SATII in just 2/3 weeks and get 700+

YES, it is possible.
some people don't start studying for AP's till 2 weeks before the test and still manage to pull of 5's. so i suppose 2-3 weeks is plenty for the SAT subject test

definitely, there is only so much you need to know. All my info was from middle school social studies and 9th grade world history courses. If you use a good book to study i wont be surprised if you aced it.

Does taking "easy" SAT IIs make you look bad from an admissions standpoint? The world history will be the only humanities SAT II I'm taking. Does that look bad?

IS barrons a good choice??

i guess...rather i hope. cuz i ordered that rushed from amazon!

Would studying from the Kaplan review book help me get a good score on the test even though I have not taken a AP world history course before ?
or should I use barrons along with Kaplan to study?

thanks

You can definitely self study for the AP. As for the Barrons book...im not so sure since Barrons usually gives you too much information. Good if you have the time, but when you are in a rush it can lower your potential score.

I'm wondering...I took the AP exam and got a 5 a couple years ago, and is it even worth studying for this test? I mean, you can get 14 wrong and still get 800 right?

The curve in the Real SAT book is this
800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 800 790 780 780 770 760 760...

haha its sad that I got a 680 on this test

Well I have to agree with you there, ck.

So is the test 90 questions or 95 questions?

just study alot, I studied for like 3 weeks and got an 800. Believe me, if this is your first SATII( it was for me) it feels sooooo nice to know you already have a perfect score under your belt, and the curve for the test is like less than 7 omitted=800.

Does anyone have( and is willing to share) really good and concise notes for world history? I'm actually pretty blur as to what i should focus on.

i got a 680 and a 5 on the ap world history test hahahah
