which book would you guys recommend that is the best for preparing for the Sat II world History.. Does anyone know anything about the exam? How is it compared to the AP exam.. I took AP world history.. pretty much aced that class... thought AP exam was pretty good.. but then again.. you never really know..im a sophomore btw.. so hmm.. what book would you recommend? Thankss!

barrons is pretty solid...make sure you have the SAT II book and not the AP book. When I took it two years ago everyone told me that test emphasized stuff from ap euro and not ap world...which with the exception of several questions, was not the case on my test. Barrons SAT II is pretty solid and covers everything including the euro stuff - it's relatively thin, but don't let that fool you. I started studying about a week before and pulled a 760, the curve is ridiculously lenient.

I've got to study the Asian dynasties, there seem to be several of these pesky questions on each of the tests I've taken.

yes. just make a list and memorize them. its very fun. actually, i would recommend barron's ap if you have time. if ur taking it like in june, just get SAT II. I studied barron's AP for the AP test, and didn't do anything for SAT II and still got a 770. Barron's is thorough - and i don't think the curve is really lenient. I got in the 96% with my 770, which means the curve sucked (at least my year).

is SAT II world history more general, since you gotta know ... world history? ALso i havnt taken many classes that would help... so will a review book and 2 weeks of studying get me above 700?

If you study very hard, it probably will.

For anyone who took the SAT II and did well after preparing with Barron's, how did your Barron's pretest performance compare with your actual test score?
