SAT II Writing- I think you may wanna read this...

I was wondering because I really do not want to take the NEW sat this fall for one section. On the old sat i got a 1480 (790 M 690 V). My sat 2 scores are IIC-800, IC-760, Latin-720, Bio-790, Phys-790. But Writing is a 640. Do you think it is advisable to take the New Sat again. My goal is to apply Duke ED, however, I was wondering if my sat II scores can stand out over the writing.

But if I do take the NEW SAT, do you think if I get a score say 760 Writing, 740 math, but like 630 CR, a college like DUKE will just take writing score into consideration and use my previous 1480 sat score. It just sucks they eliminated SAT II Writing and the fact that I have to pay $40 and spend 5 hours to take an entire test to improve one section. What would you do??

Thanks.

They're going to mix and match your best scores anyway, so why not just take the New SAT again? Naturally, your scores will improve anyway because you've gotten smarter since your last taking of the old SAT. In summary, I'd definitely recommend taking the New SAT if you're going for Duke ED.

the only problem is that I did well because of the sick curves and I dont think I will have time to do much preparation for it. Thats all.

thanks.

bump

please
