Sat Ii

I read that USC does not require SAT II's. I am curious what is the purpose of turning SAT II scores in if they are not required. Does it give an edge to those who have not taken them?

it gives an edge to those who are applying for scholarships.

yeah...if you did well. i ****ed mine over; took them ages after i took the actual classes and didn't study a bit. i'm actually kinda dissapointed i took them. hopefully they won't hurt me if everything else is in good shape...

To the contrary, I am under the impression that it gives an edge to those who have taken them (and done well) because it gives the adcoms one more thing to add to your application.

A lot of times when colleges say it's "optional" they might as well say it's recommended.
