is it ok if i take an sat 2 twice? im thinking about taking writing and us history in november but i also want to retake the writing in december because i kno i will do bad. do colleges care if u bomb it the first time?

If you know that you will do badly (ie, you feel that you need more time to prep, and you will), you really shouldn't take it. The colleges will see your transcript and your old score and that may have an adverse effect.

oh wow... anyone else?

bump..........

Don't take writing the first time. Switch to another subject. Like lavenderdream said, it does show up and colleges will see it. I don't know if they actually care whether or not you bomb it but a 500 or a 600 won't look pretty to highly competitive colleges.

Totally agree. Don't take it until you're ready for it. Prep as best you can. I have the PR book and it's excellent. Have you tried that one yet?

i have the barrons book and the kaplans book but i barely studied at all. is it really that bad? waht if i get a 600-650ish and then retake it in december and get 700+? would it be that much worse than getting jus a 700? thanks!

My question still remains. If you know that you are going to do badly, and that there is another opportunity later on, why take it now? Study until you feel prepared or do well on the practice tests.

i just wanna take the test and see how i do. i also would like to retake my sat is, though it isnt urgent at all. i would just like to retake it for myself. if i take it in december, i could hopefully get it to the colleges. thanks guys!
