I'm sure this question has been asked a billion times. I'm new to this site and am in need of help. Basically, which SAT II Literature book is best if i'm not very good at CR test but i need 700+. Maybe a combination or something, i dunno. Time is also a factor, so i need something quick and effective.
Thank You very much.

Do you need to take the literature test? There are much easier ones out there.

I'd say Barron's has a good review.

I didnt take the lit SAT II so Im not really familiar w/ review books for that particular test, but in general, Barrons has the most comprehensive review sections and their tests are generally harder than what u will find on the actual exam. I would go w/ them, the only negative is that their prac tests dont have a score scale like the other review books do.

Why would you take the Literature test? I have heard it is very difficult. And to me it seems a little redundant with the SATI Critical Reading section. Unless English/Reading is your absolute forte, then I can't see the reason for taking it. As theoneo said, there are much easier ones out there.

What would be a much easier one..besides us history haha

It depends on what you do well on in school. But if you want a more generic approach, the Collegeboard releases mean scores as well as the percentiles for each score for each SAT II. I'll copy the means and percentiles of an 800, 700, 600, and 500 (except for foreign languages, since not many people take them for purposes other than placement and the scaling is skewed from all the native speakers who take them). The higher the percentile, the fewer percentage of 800's there were. These aren't exact indicators, though.

Test: mean 800 700 600 500
Literature: 591 99+ 82 49 20
US History: 589 99 82 51 21
World History: 580 98 85 56 23
Math IC: 590 99+ 84 49 18
Math IIC: 662 90 62 26 3
Biology E: 588 99 85 50 18
Biology M: 621 98 75 37 12
Chemistry: 610 98 77 45 15
Physics: 650 93 65 29 7

From this, I'd say that people do worst on Lit/IC, then BioE/World/US. However, bear in mind that there are certain types of people who would be more inclined to take Math IIC, Physics, etc.

Also, these are from the 2003-2004 administrations.

What if i only submit one SAT II to the UC's? will that affect my admissions tremendousl? if i do well on the SAT will that make up for it?

i would try to submit what the college wants if at all possible
