SAT IIs and AP exams

Is it practical to be taking an SAT II (not counting the Math 2) if you will be or have taken an AP exam for the corresponding subject? E.g, if I were to take the AP Physics B or English Lang exams, then take the SAT Subject Physics or Literature tests afterward, or vise versa.

It just seems kind of redundant to me, and that it really doesn't show the admissions officers anything new. On the other hand, it could reinforce the fact that you are strong in that particular field.

Hmm…all my teachers recommend it. Since you officially report all your SAT II scores…and some schools require them so why not take them since you already know all the information. (You don’t really HAVE to report all your AP scores)

SAT Subject Scores are required for admission. Why? The scaled score gives colleges a much better idea of your standing relative to the nation. The “1-5” system of the AP is limited in what it conveys.
