SAT IIs for a prospective engineering student junior with no AP sciences?

The prerequisites for the AP science courses at my school, as well as a schedule filled with other AP courses, have prevented me from taking either AP Physics, Chem, or Bio so far. I am currently a junior.

I have not taken any subject tests yet, and I cannot take any this June as I am re-taking the regular SAT. However, I'm definitely planning on taking a few in October, though I'm not sure if that's too late.

Math II is at the top of my list, but I'm not sure what else to take that would be of some worth to the college to which I'm applying (University of Michigan - College of Engineering). I'm probably not capable of obtaining a good score in either Physics or Chem or Bio without a formal AP-level course (I've just taken the "honors" classes).

I'm considering English as a possible second test, and perhaps History, just to round things out. But both of those are probably not that relevant to the College of Engineering.

What would you recommend? Is it that bad if I apply to an engineering-focused college without an SAT II in a science?

I’m in the same boat that you’re in, so I’m self studying SAT physics from honors physics. Most colleges definitely want to see a science SAT if you’re applying to Engineering, but not all of them require it.

I took honors chem as a junior an got a 750 on the satII by preparing and studying months before the test. My school does the same thing, you cannot take an ap science without taking the regular course first.

I want to major in engineering in college also and at the Columbia University info. Session, one of the admissions officers said one pre requisite for applying to Columbia is taking the Chem SATII and either math I or mathII. So it’s probably a good idea you take chem…

**** applying to Columbia engineering school ****
