Here's my situation. I am very interested in Columbia/Barnard, and much to my dismay, they require 2 SAT II's for admission. Unfortunately, I live in rural Missouri, where the ACT rules. I need to take the subject tests, but I don't know which to take. Are there any that are considered "easy?" My counselor has never sent anyone to any school outside of the tri-state are, so she has no experience with the SAT. I'm also afraid that my TINY, poor high school won't have prepared me for these subject tests. Below are my courses and the years I took them. Please advise which test you think might be good for me to take (in the Fall). Thanks.

Sophomore: Spanish I, Biology I, English II, Liberty & Law/Missouri History, Chemistry, Geometry, Desktop Publishing

Well for Columbia University if you want to major in engineering they require Math & Physics or Chem.

You need to tell us what subjects you like and are good at.

Don't panic, you are only a sophmore, but in any case, first make sure the requirements are different for those who take the ACT in terms of SAT IIs, they are for some schools. Secondly the literature exam, from what I have heard, may not be easy, but doesn't require a whole lot of studing. The math IC and IIC require knowledge of math but aren't tied to a particular years circulum. In all honesty though the best thing to do is probably buy the real SATII practice book, try the tests in a few subjects, and see what you do well on.

I liked American History, but I will have taken it two years prior to the test. I want to major in Film or Journalism. I'm pretty good at math--I've won a few contests. I'm fairly good at Spanish, but I've only taken one course of it, and the quality of that course is a little sketchy.
