dartmouth says they only require 2 SAT IIs and will only look at your best two, but I'm really worried about the math. I dont plan on focusing on math in college i only took it b/c my GC told me i should. i've already deicded to take the lit again since i really think i can do better, but is it worth it? basically what are your thoughts on my SAT II scores should i retake one/both? if i had to take math again how do u think i should best prepare?

thanks in advance :)

I am in a similar situation, and I would love to hear others say what chances you have. Our SAT and SAT IIs are almost identical. I am ranked #1 in my class, but so are a few others.

honestly, i dont think anyone cares too much about sat2s, its more that you just need to be in the right ballpark. While it might help one a bit if the sat2s were like 770+, being mid to high 6 won't really hurt you. sats are much more important

Your SAT scores (both I and II) are on the mid/high section of the curve for Dartmouth applicants. I would say not to worry about it if you think your essays, recommendations, and extracurriculars are strong enough to make you stand out. The admissions office isn't looking for a minimum; scores in the upper 600s and 700s say that you're a smart enough kid to handle the work here, and then they'll move onto more pertinent parts of your application.

What SAT I score are they looking for as a"minimum" (I know that there is no real minimum, just what value above which do you think they just say, okay. that is high enough, let's see what else this kid has?)

Yeah, my SAT Is are 770 CR, 670 M, and 660 W, so I'm hoping the 770 CR will overcome the 670 M...and they really aren't paying that much attention to the writing section this year, are they?
