In 10th grade I took honors chemistry, and decided to take the subject test at the end of the year even though our class didn't cover most of the topics that would be on the test. I ended up getting a 540 on it and I know that this score is definitely not worth sending anywhere. I took the test "for the heck of it" and now I'm wondering how bad it'll look on my college application? I also took math level 2 and us history but ended up getting 660s on both. If I retake these two and do well, will it still look bad?

You don’t have to put it on your college applications unless a school requires you to send every test you’ve taken (some do; you can usually find out on a school’s website). Otherwise, just retake them and don’t worry about it!

@Ranza123 I don’t plan on retaking chem considering I forgot almost everything haha but if a school requires me to send it in, will they care about it if my other scores are much higher? Thank you for answering btw

I assume that a school’s motive for having you send in all your scores is to see your growth. My guess is they won’t particularly care about the lower grades as long as they can see you’ve improved. Not a lot of colleges require you to send in everything, but I know for example if you apply to Yale and choose to send in your SAT, you have to send in every SAT and SAT II test you’ve ever taken. Just research the colleges you plan to apply to to find out for sure.
