Should I take the risk of taking 2/3 SAT II's, losing money I could use for an extra AP exam, if I don't feel that I'm super competetive for HYPSM, and end up going somewhere where SAT II's aren't required?

Is money really that tight? Besides SAT IIs are only 18+8/test or something like that... no where near the 82 is costs for an AP.

Oh, ok. I really never looked into the price of SAT II's. I just figured that all of CollegeBoard's stuff was overpriced. Do yall think that being out-of-state, and having to take the SAT II's, is worth it for UVA?

Many places require them. If any of the schools you hope to apply to require them, definitely take them. You want to have as many options in April is possible.

If finances are an issue, you should be able to get a fee waiver either from your school or Collegeboard.

What is a good company that sells prep books that actually go over the material for the SAT IIs?

Changing the subject a little, for AP review, is McGraw a good prep book to learn the material for? Thanks in advance!

The quality of the prep books depends on the particular subject. Some companies have good history books, but their other books aren't very good, for example. What SAT II's and AP's are you looking at taking?

APs-Psychology, W. History

SAT IIs-Biology, W. History, Math IIc
