SAT IIs in BIO AND MATH IIC: WHICH BOOK? Barrons v. Kaplan v. Sparknotes????

Need some help deciding

eh... Barron's is always my favorite for anything. I think its an individual preference.

I used Barron's for Bio and Kaplan for Math...
Kaplan has a reputation for being slightly easier than the real thing and Barron's is the opposite...So whatever you choose..
I have no idea about sparknotes.

i need help deciding if sparknotes is good for the Macth 1C

sparknotes all the way... I never really liked anything else.

For the Math IIC I suggest you find a good pre-calc book for learning the information, a barrons for practicing more difficult math and for programming tips, and sparknotes to practice taking Collegeboard-type tests. Watch out for typos and mathematically false statements in both sparknotes and barrons. No one book is good for IIC, I think. Here is a quick Pro/Con list for barrons and sparknotes:

Barrons
Pros:
-Points out (but does not cover in great detail) every type of math you will have to know for the test
-Difficult tests
-Teaches you how to program and to use calculators, which is VERY important for the IIC

Cons:
-Typos
-Difficult, sometimes unrealistic questions
-Does not go into much specific detail for mathematical concepts. (Hence the supplementary pre-calc book)

Sparknotes:
Pros:
-Somewhat realistic tests
-Teahes students basic mathematical concepts

Cons:
-Terrible typos, and proofs are sometimes wrong, and some answers given are wrong (because of their incorrect proofs)
-Does not delve into more abstract concepts that you might need on the test
-Neglects calculators

hmm... I have both Barrons, Kaplan and Sparknotes Math IIC books... Would you recommend I study for Kaplan and take practice tests from Sparknotes and Barrons since the latter 2 books have lotsa wrong answers, etc?

thanks

no...
using those books well will give you a good score
using the meylani for practice will give you an even better score

so you recommend studying from all three books and copmleting all sample problems?? if so, its gonna be really time consuming :(

Also, does it matter to Adcoms whether I take the math level 1c test or 2c test? does 2c look better?

which meylani book are you talking about ? is it 10 REALISTIC SATII MATH 2c test booklets?

15 realistic sat ii math 2c test (not booklets)

yes 2c looks better, unless you fail it (which you wont if you go the extra mile and study hard)
