The title's kind of an aberrant one, I'm definitely going to take my SAT II's very soon, probably next month in October or November. I'm not sure if this is under the right topic but here goes...

...What SAT II's, and how many, should I take? I'm a science nut and I'm currently taking multivariable calculus (NOT trying to show off... there are tons of people who are better than me at math), so it's probably Chem and Math II for me? Or should I take one more? I'll be applying to a few ivies, and maybe a few schools like Johns Hopkins or Wesleyan (I live in the East Coast). I've looked up the requirements for SAT subject tests and apparently, only Harvard and Johns Hopkins recommend/require 3. So if I take 2, will that puncture holes in my chances of getting into Johns Hopkins?

Any help would be appreciated, and I'd love to hear any experiences from people regardless of what college they went to/are attending/are applying to. The sooner the better, because registration date is right around the corner~~

Harvard does not require three Subject Tests; it lowered its requirement to two. Johns Hopkins, as you noted, does recommend three, though. Obviously, having three favorable scores is better than having two: if you think that you can do well on a third test, you might as well try. But if you’re not well prepared for another test and don’t want to spend the time to correct that, going with two instead of three will not have a large impact on your chances for any school.

I am also gonna take 2 SATIIs, but I have to figure out which ones by the 9th, the last day to register. I’m a 90% sure that I’m gonna take MathII, but I don’t know what second one I am gonna take, probably USH or English Lit.

You can sign up for 2 test and decide to take 3 the day of the test.
Or vice versa you could sign up for 3 and only take 2
They’ll bill you for the additional test or refund you if you undertake
