Which is more important to the top schools. Any statistics to validate opinions? I personally have a decent SAT I (1450) but lower II’s (693 average). How much will this affect top admissions? I know everything else matters, what I am concerned with is how much II’s matter. Thx.

good question i wanna know too lol

Totally depends on the school.

Let's say a school like Brown or Penn

bump .

Then SAT I probably matters more, but you'd better have a stellar gpa to get into Brown or Penn with those test scores.

94? lol translates to 3.9 according to my school. Doesnt matter much now anyway, applied ED at Penn

From what I've heard as long as your scores are within their range, they do not play a factor in your admission, meaning they will look at other stuff like your essay, recs, ECs etc. I would not worry about your II's since I imagine they would fall in the middle 50% range of penn and brown.

693 is kinda low

Yeah, well I have a 720 Bio, 650 Math 2C, and a 640 Writing!! That's a 670 average, and I'm applying to those same schools. Oh yeah, 1410 SAT. How do you think I feel???

Yah, but 730 in writing which is decent. i think they look at that more than the others

Worrying will not change anything. Study if you feel the need to and try not to be too stressed out. :) In the end, I would say that they're not a determining factor if there's a difference of 30 or 40 points per applicant. What schools, especially competitives like Brown and Penn, want to see is the real person that can add to their general atmosphere and a terrific academic record. They've got hundreds of people applying with similar standardized test scores, but when it comes down to it, the strongest individuals will shine through.
