im looking into upenn and jhu and they require SAT IIs that show your areas of academic interest. the problem is, i want to major in biology but my school's curriculum doesnt offer AP or even honors level bio. i took a bio course as a sophomore but it was a required, basic class so i really dont think that it was detailed enough to get me a decent score on the test. is it possible to self study for it? im planning on taking the US history one since im already taking apush, but it doesnt really relate to my interests. how would colleges view this ["this" being taking an SATII that is no way connected to science]?

thanks! =]

I always thought that they didn't care which one you took as long as you took them but I may be wrong.

If you are really determined for biology, then you should maybe check out the Biology SAT II prep books. Sure it will be a lot to learn, but you'll have to be doing a lot more memorizing when you're actually doing biology and medicine in college than the SAT II. Are you doing a foreign language in school like Spanish or French?

To kingjoker, sometimes they might look heavily on them. A high class university like MIT won't congratulate you on an 800 in Math on the SAT. They might give you a pat on the back, but they will want to see you get a high score on the very advanced Math IIs. Unless the school is all about biology, then you might not have a problem.
