According to collegeboard, you don't need to take any AP classes for their tests, but how true is that?

Do you need to take AP's for the following SAT's:
Biology
Chemistry
USH

You don’t need to take an AP before taking its corresponding SAT II, but many do.

Two birds, one stone ;).

Ohh, but I’m sure it helps get a high score too.

…I think I may focus on the Biology SAT since I’m taking that AP this year.

In fact, you don’t even need to take the AP Course to take and AP test… My brother took AP stat test because he was offered to take it for free I think and got a 1 on it.

But it is usually encouraged that you take an AP course with the corresponding subject because it could really help you get your score up.

@seokkyu125 Yeah, I agree. I really want a high score and I’m sure it’ll be much easier to get that if I take the AP.

My school doesn’t offer AP classes, but I still got decent scores on my SAT II’s.

I took the world history subject test without any corresponding course and got a 780.

With AP Bio, 770 on Bio E and 5 on exam.

Because of the AP, I didn’t study for bio at all and went all out on world history.

Did you study alot for them?^

Btdubbs I studied world history for a week. Read the Barron’s AP book every night.

Ahh I see… I’m probably going to do the same with the Biology and math level 1 or 2.

And mathmaniac11, did you study alot?

I got an 800 in Math II with no studying whatsoever, and I got a 660 in physics. I took the physics sat before I actually took a physics class, so I studied for 5-10 hours beforehand.

Wow, nice job! I’m studying for the ML1, but I’m thinking of maybe switching to ML2 because most of this is SO boring and it’s hard to review more than 10 minutes without getting bored… Does the ML2 include a lot of Trig?

Umm I took it about a year ago, so I can’t remember much. I think there was a decent amount of trigonometry, but I honestly can’t remember how much. I would try taking a practice test and see how that goes.

Work through the Barrons book a couple of time for two or three weeks prior to the exam and you will be fine.

That’s what I’ll probably do.^ :)

I have another question; for the ML1, I don’t really like the Barron’s book… Any other good ML1 prep books?
