Hey..
Are the SAT II's required/recommended for admission???

Private colleges, yes. Not sure about all public ones.

Not at ND. If they are good they will look at them but they are not required and I don't even think they are recommended but you can check on that. I didn't send them.

Oh sorry, stupid me. I didn't see the section...ignore my (wrong) info. :O

lol, no worries, you tried! ND just differs from a lot of top schools in many ways, and that is just one of them. I am thankful, the SAT II Spanish was no muy bien para mi!

ok thats good to know...because I have a really weird schedule this year...and i dont know which SAT II i will be qualified to take......
I took chemistry sophmore year...so I dont know how much I'll remember that
Im taking Physics senior year.. so thats out
Im taking Algebra II/Trig/Precalc this year so would that be math II?
Definitly not doing spanish.......so would that be only 1
Maybe literature
i have no idea

Although they aren't required, I figure it can't hurt to have them. Its always a good idea to have them in case one of the other schools you are applying to does in fact recommend them. Some of the SATIIs, like the math ones, don't really require studying- I'd recommend MATH IIC for you. Some of the tests can be crammed for in a relatively short period of time. I took mol bio sophomore year and didn't take bio-M until senior year and still came out of it with a 750 with cram sessions two nights in a row before the test. I hear the lit one is really hard, but I don't know. What about recent history classes? Could you take the US history SATII?

I'm really good with us history....but i was forced to take regular us history in the summer so that i could fit both baseball and football into my schedule...so im sure i can do that
So i can study out of a college board book and do well on it??
Whats mainly on the math II?
thanks shellzie

Hey chillin!

Math 2 would be a good pick for you...I don't remember exactly what it was like but visit this website (http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/lc_two/math2c/math2c.html?match2c) for more specific info from the college board. They give a listing of some of the general topic areas you need to know, and from what I can tell, you should be in a good position to take it, but wait to take it until the end of this year...then you'll be sure you've covered most of the material. Good luck to you!

thanks for the info

Strangely enough, our sister school St. Mary's does require SAT IIs...

ya.. I know all of the UC's do to
