I was wondering if anyone knew where colleges were generally leaning in terms of SAT IIs now that writing is going to be part of the regular SAT. Most schools requiring the IIs seem to want writing and 2 others. Any sense whether the schools are leaning towards only requiring 2 or are they going to want to see 3 anyway?

And yes, I know, I need to call specific schools, but son still has not really focused in on anything, so I was kind of wondering, overall, which way the wind is blowing on this one.

most schools have gone to two, but I think Penn is still at 3. The UC's used to require Writing+Math + one other, now they'll take any two in two different subject areas.

Great question, Shennie. I've been wondering the same thing. I am assuming that most will want just two now, but I suppose that may vary based on the particular school.

Penn has not updated its web site yet. But at a session at our high school in the fall, the Admissions Rep mentioned that Penn will require 3 SAT IIs even with the new
SAT I. I plan to call the Admissions Office in the spring to confirm this.
